Submission Guidelines & Formatting Rules
To ensure a fair and rigorous peer-review process, all submissions must strictly adhere to the following formatting standards. Failure to meet these criteria will result in automatic disqualification.
1. Structure and Length
- Abstract Title: Maximum of 75 words. The title should be descriptive, concise, and clear.
- Abstract Body: Maximum of 250 words.
- Required Headings: The text must be clearly divided into four distinct sections:
- Introduction: Statement of the clinical problem, hypothesis, or study objective.
- Patients (or Materials) and Methods: Study design, patient cohorts, interventions, and statistical methods.
- Results: Clear presentation of data, outcomes, and statistical significance (do not state "results will be discussed").
- Conclusions: The clinical implications of your findings and how they impact urological practice.
2. Strict Anonymity for Blind Review
- All abstracts undergo a rigorous, anonymized peer-review process by the BAUS Section Committees.
- No identifying information—including author names, co-author names, hospital names, NHS trusts, or specific geographical locations—may appear within the title or body of the abstract.
- Author names and institutional affiliations must only be entered into the dedicated metadata fields on the online submission portal.
3. Font and Style
- The text must be formatted in Calibri, 11pt font, with standard single line spacing.
- A maximum of one table or one figure may be included, provided it fits within the submission page constraints.
- Avoid using inline citations or reference lists unless absolutely vital to the context of the study.
